AMiCUS is the Adventist Ministry to College and University Students of the Youth Ministries Department. Our mission is to create spaces where students in Europe can connect, think, and encounter Jesus in a transformative way.
About
AMiCUS Congress: ARISE Intensive
As part of the 2025 AMiCUS Congress, we are excited to offer an opportunity for young adults (18+) to engage deeply with Scripture. To make this possible, we are partnering with Light Bearers to bring you the ARISE Intensive—a dynamic Bible study experience featuring guest speakers Ty Gibson and David Asscherick.
This unique gathering will not only strengthen your understanding of Scripture but also connect you with a community of passionate followers of Jesus. Be inspired, equipped, and empowered to live out the gospel and make a lasting impact in your world.

We will journey through The Story of Scripture, helping you see how God’s story shapes your identity, purpose, and mission.

Accommodations
You will be staying in multi-bedroom flats, with capacity for up to 4 people. All flats are fully equipped with a kitchen and have a living room and outdoor terraces to enjoy moments of relaxation. Nestled 10 minutes away from the stunning Mediterranean coastline, the Cambrils Park Resort provides the perfect setting for spiritual renewal and community connection.

Ty Gibson

Ty Gibson
Ty is the Speaker/Director for Light Bearers. A passionate communicator with a message that opens minds and moves hearts, Ty teaches on a variety of topics, emphasizing God’s unfailing love as the central theme of the Bible. Ty and his wife Sue have three adult children and two grandsons.
David Asscherick

David Asscherick
David is the co-founder of ARISE and a speaker for Light Bearers. He has spent more than three decades traveling the globe preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He and his wife, Violeta, are the happy parents of two boys, Landon and Jabel. They enjoy backpacking, climbing, running, fly fishing, and reading.
Angelo Grasso

Angelo Grasso
Angelo Grasso serves as Light Bearers’ Spiritual Care Director and ARISE instructor. Angelo is deeply passionate about exploring the intersection of brain science and spiritual growth across all stages of life. He is blessed by the companionship of his wife, Kathy, and their two children, Eli and Emma.
Levi Johnson

Levi Johnson
Levi attended the ARISE program in Australia in 2017, where he fell in love with Jesus—a turning point that has shaped his life ever since. Captivated by God’s goodness, he is passionate about helping others experience it. Today, he serves as co-director of ARISE Finland, teaching and leading students in outreach.
Braedan Entermann

Braedan Entermann
Braedan currently serves as co-director of ARISE Finland. He is passionate about sharing the gospel and helping people find freedom in Jesus. Originally from Australia, he and his family moved to Finland to serve in mission. His wife, Alise, is a constant source of joy, and together they have two children, Levi and Lydia.

PRICING
The final cost of attending the AMiCUS Congress:ARISE Intensive depends on your country of residence, as you will be attending as part of a country delegation. Some countries may offer additional trip experiences, so be sure to check with your Union or Conference Youth Director or AMiCUS leader for the specific details and final pricing in your country.
The congress fee is as follows (remember to check with your Union youth or AMiCUS leader to learn the final price in your country):
€200 – If you live in a country within the Inter-European Division (EUD)
€255 – If you live outside of the Inter-European Division territory

To attend the AMiCUS Congress: ARISE Intensive, you must register through your Union or Conference Youth Department or AMiCUS ministry.

Will there be translation available? In which languages?
Main sessions will be in English with simultaneous translation available in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian. Check with your country coordinator to access this service.
Can I choose who to share accommodation with?
Yes. Apartments are organized by national delegations and gender. Indicate your preferences during registration. We will try to accommodate these requests as long as all requesters are of the same gender.
Will there be free time to explore Cambrils or the beach?
Yes. The program includes free time after lunch on Friday and Saturday. The beach is only 10 minutes from the resort, and downtown Cambrils is accessible. We recommend using these moments to explore the area.
How do I get there?
You can arrive by car, train or bus. If you arrive at Barcelona airport, and want to get to Cambrils Park Resort using public transportation, we recommend you take a bus. It is important that you book it in advance! Bus Option 1: if you are coming as a group, you can book a shuttle for your entire group here: https://www.aliancetransfer.com/en/shuttle/ Bus Option 2: You can get a bus from Barcelona airport to the stop Salou Apaedero (Monumento Jaime I). We can arrange for your pick up at this bus stop. You can book for up to 50 people on the website.https://www.busplana.com/en/transfers The price is 18.60 EUR.The bus trip takes about two hours.
Is there a shuttle on Sunday, 5 October?
Yes, on Sunday, 5 October, we will provide a shuttle bus to the Barcelona (BCN) Airport, leaving from the venue at 14:30. If you are interested in this service, please let your AMiCUS/youth director know when you register. That means you should book flights starting 18:00 on Sunday.
